A full-day cruise from Marmaris harbour on a 25-metre, three-deck pirate ship — swimming stops at Green Sea, Kumlubuk and Paradise Island, a stop at Turunc village, a foam party on deck and an open buffet lunch on board. Hotel pickup included from £30.
A few summers ago an English family came aboard — first holiday in Marmaris, first time on any kind of boat, and very obviously not sure what they had signed up for. Mum and dad sat near the rail for the first hour and barely spoke. The kids were quiet. The DJ played the first song as we left the harbour, everyone on deck clapped, and the parents managed a polite half-smile.
By the time we reached the second swimming stop, our crew had pulled the family into one of the deck games. By the time the foam machine came on, they were standing in a half-metre of bubbles dancing with strangers. When we returned to harbour, their youngest — Jesse — refused to get off. Genuinely cried about it. Mum sent us a photo a week later from back in the UK: Jesse wearing a paper pirate hat at the dinner table, still talking about it.
Versions of that story happen most weeks. The pirate boat is the loudest, most unapologetically fun thing we run — and it surprises the parents more than the children.
A seven-and-a-half-hour cruise on one of the largest pirate ships in Marmaris. The boat is a proper 25-metre, three-deck vessel built fifteen years ago in the style of the ships you’ve seen in Pirates of the Caribbean — wooden masts, rigging, the lot. We’ve been operating this exact ship since 2015.
Capacity is 200 passengers, but we deliberately run with smaller groups. That decision matters more than it sounds: it’s the difference between queueing for lunch and sitting down comfortably, between a packed deck at the foam party and actual space to move.
The route takes you out of Marmaris harbour and west along the coast to three swimming stops — Green Sea bay, Kumlubuk and Paradise Island — with a stop at Turunc village on the way and a slow pass by the famous Phosphorus cave. Open buffet lunch is served on board between stops. Soft drinks, beer, wine and local raki are unlimited and included in the price.

The foam party runs at different points during the day — usually two or three times, depending on the group and how the energy on deck is going. The DJ keeps the music moving with current hits and party mixes when the deck is busy, and turns it down or off entirely during quieter stretches and lunch.
Forty minutes at the first proper bay west of Marmaris. The water here is the colour the bay is named for — a deep, clear green that comes from the pine forest reflected on the surface. This is usually the calmest stop of the day, ideal for an easy first swim before the deck warms up. Snorkel sets are available on request.
The longest of the three swimming stops at 45 minutes, and the one with the warmest, shallowest water. Kumlubuk is a wide, sandy bay popular with families because children can wade in from the boat and find depth that matches their confidence. The cliffs around the bay are also where the divers in the group head to.
The last stop before we turn for home. Thirty minutes here, but it’s a stop most guests remember because of the sunset light on the water as the boat sits at anchor. The water is the clearest of the three.
About halfway between Kumlubuk and Paradise Island we slow the boat for a pass by the Phosphorus cave, a small dark cavity in the rocky shoreline that takes its name from the way light catches the mineral surface inside.
To be straight with you: we don’t enter the cave. It’s too narrow for a 25-metre ship and the swimming stop here would be unsafe in any group setting. What we do is bring the boat as close as the captain considers safe, slow right down, and give the deck enough time for everyone to take photos. It’s a brief, photogenic moment rather than a destination in itself. People who’ve been told to expect a “cave tour” sometimes feel a little short-changed; people who know what to expect enjoy it for what it is.
A small village about 25 kilometres west of Marmaris, reached by a short tender from the anchored boat. You get an hour on land, which is enough for a wander through the main street, a coffee, or a look around the open-air market the local women set up most days.
The market is the part most guests remember — handmade soap, dried herbs, fresh fruit, local honey, the occasional jar of homemade jam. Prices are roughly half what you’d pay in central Marmaris and the women running the stalls don’t speak much English but smile a lot and bargain happily. If you want to taste village food rather than buy it, the small cafes do simple Turkish dishes — gözleme, ayran, fresh bread.
You don’t have to leave the boat at Turunc if you don’t want to. Some guests stay on deck with a drink and use the hour as quiet time before the afternoon swimming stops.
Lunch is an open buffet served on board between the village stop and Kumlubuk. The menu rotates but a typical day includes:
Children love it as it is, so we don’t run a separate kids’ menu — the chicken and pasta work for almost every age. Vegetarian meals are available but need to be requested a day in advance so the kitchen can prepare something proper rather than improvising a side plate.
| Drinks included on board | |
|---|---|
| Soft drinks | Fanta, Coca-Cola, Sprite, water, tea, coffee — unlimited |
| Beer | Draught local beer — unlimited |
| Wine | Local red and white — unlimited |
| Spirits | Local raki — unlimited |
| Cocktails | Made in large batches at the upper bar |
| Bottled imports & branded spirits | Available to purchase separately |
Three bars run on the ship — one on each deck — with the main bar on the top deck where the DJ sets up. They stay open through the whole cruise, including at the swimming stops.
The foam party happens on the upper deck and runs at different points across the day. We don’t keep to a fixed time for it — the DJ and the crew read the energy on board and call it when the deck is at its loudest. On a typical trip the foam comes on two or three times for fifteen or twenty minutes each, with the deck dancing through it.
The DJ mixes current hits — UK chart, party classics, dance — and adjusts to the group. Lunch is quieter. The morning cruise out is low-volume. The swimming stops are background music. The afternoon after Kumlubuk is when the volume comes up and stays up.
A note for parents: the foam party is a mixed adult-and-child space. The upper deck is wide enough that this hasn’t been a problem in fifteen years of running the trip — children dance at one end with their parents while the adults having a quieter time stand at the other. The foam is non-toxic and rinses off with fresh water afterwards.
Adult (13 and over): £30 — includes everything below. Child (3–12): £15 — half price, includes everything below. Infant (under 3): Free

The short answer: families with children aged five and up. The longer answer is in the table below.
| Group | Best fit? |
|---|---|
| Families with children aged 5–12 | ✅ The ideal group — this is the day they remember |
| Toddlers and babies | ✅ Yes — the foam and lights fascinate them, life jackets fit all sizes |
| Teenagers | ✅ Yes — the swimming stops, music and food work for this age |
| Couples wanting a relaxed day | ⚠️ Possible, but consider our Marmaris all-inclusive boat trip for a quieter alternative |
| Stag and hen groups | ✅ Yes — the bar, foam party and music suit larger party groups |
| Mixed adult friend groups | ✅ Yes — a classic mid-holiday day out |
| Guests with mobility limitations | ❌ Not suitable — three-deck ship with stairs throughout |
| Wheelchair users | ❌ Not accessible |
We’ve had children as young as a few months and grandparents in their late seventies on the same trip. Life jackets are provided for every age including infant sizes, and the crew keeps a close eye on younger passengers throughout the day.
You don’t need much.
A swimsuit is the main thing, plus a towel — we have some on board but a personal one is always more comfortable. Sun cream matters, because seven hours on open water gives you more sun than people expect. Sunglasses, a hat, and a light cover-up for the cooler return cruise as the sun drops.
A waterproof phone pouch is a sensible purchase for the foam party and the swimming stops — any Marmaris supermarket sells them for a few lira. Bring a small amount of cash for ice cream from the kiosk, photo purchases, or anything you spot at the Turunc market. Everything else is taken care of.
Do I have to pay anything in advance? No deposit, no card details, no online payment. You pay the driver in cash on the morning of the tour.
What if I need to cancel? Cancel any time before pickup at no cost. Nothing was paid, so nothing to refund.
What if the weather is bad? Light rain doesn’t stop the trip — the upper deck has shaded areas and the lower decks are covered. Strong winds or storms can cause cancellation, in which case we offer a reschedule or full cancellation with no charge. We make the call the evening before or early in the morning.
Is alcohol really unlimited? Yes. Local beer, wine and raki are included with no limit. Branded imports (whisky, gin, etc.) and bottled cocktails are available to purchase separately at the bar.
Is the foam party safe for children? Yes. The foam is non-toxic and rinses off with fresh water. The upper deck is wide enough that families with younger children and adults can share the space comfortably. Most parents end up in it with their kids.
Can I bring my own food or drink? The price already includes a full open buffet and unlimited soft drinks and local alcohol, so most guests don’t need to. If you have specific dietary needs or want to bring something for an infant, that’s fine.
Are vegetarian meals available? Yes, but they need to be requested a day in advance so the kitchen can prepare a proper dish rather than improvising a side plate.
Do we actually go inside the Phosphorus cave? No. The cave is too narrow for a ship this size. We slow the boat for a close pass and give the deck time for photographs. If you specifically want to enter the cave, that’s a different excursion on smaller boats.
Is there shade on the boat? Yes. Each deck has shaded areas, and the lower deck is fully covered. The upper deck is the sunniest and where most guests sit, but you can move between decks freely.
What language is the crew? English-speaking crew on every trip.
Can I combine the pirate boat trip with other Marmaris tours? Yes. Many guests pair this with a quieter day — a Dalyan tour from Marmaris for nature and culture, or a Marmaris jeep safari for something land-based. Add both to your basket and we’ll coordinate pickup times so nothing overlaps.
Select your date in the booking panel above. You’ll receive immediate confirmation by email. Pay the driver in cash on the morning of the tour — no card, no deposit, no app required.
Prefer to message? WhatsApp and email bookings get the same fixed prices and a confirmation within the hour during normal daytime hours. If you’re planning multiple days of activities across your stay, send us the full list and we’ll build a schedule around your holiday.
This is the loudest day we run. It isn’t subtle, it isn’t quiet, and it isn’t for everyone — but for families with kids, groups on holiday, and anyone who fancies a proper deck-side party for the day, it’s been one of our most consistently requested trips for fifteen summers in a row.
