Five daily boat trips from Marmaris harbour and surrounding ports, running May to October. From the family pirate boat with its foam party and three decks, to the calmer Cleopatra Island cruise on a traditional Turkish gulet, to the river boat day through the Dalyan delta to the turtle nesting beach. All include lunch, swimming stops, unlimited soft drinks and free hotel pickup. From £24 per person, paid in cash on the day — no deposit, no booking fee.
Marmaris is the boat trip capital of Turkey’s Aegean coast. A deep natural bay sheltered by pine-covered mountains, three separate working harbours, more than 200 licensed tour boats, and sea conditions that stay calm enough for daily sailing from May right through to the end of October. Whatever kind of day on the water you’re after — loud and family-orientated, calm and romantic, cultural, adventurous, or just a long lazy day in the sun — there’s a Marmaris boat trip that fits.
Below is everything worth knowing before you book. We’ve been running these trips out of Marmaris since 2014 and we’ll give you the honest version, not the brochure version.
Three reasons, in roughly this order:
The four daily boat trips we run cover four very different types of day. Here’s the honest comparison:
The standard Marmaris boat day. Seven hours, three swimming stops at sheltered bays around the Marmaris gulf, open buffet lunch on board, unlimited soft drinks, music on deck through the afternoon. The boat carries 40-60 guests on most days. Best for couples, small groups and anyone wanting a relaxed full-day cruise without too much noise. From £24 per person — the most affordable option and the most popular boat we sell.
The loudest boat on the water. Three-deck themed ship, foam party machine on the upper deck, dance music through the day, swimming stops with rope swings, family lunch on board, and a crew that has been doing this since 2015 and knows exactly when to dial the energy up and when to leave a quiet group alone. Best for families with children old enough to swim, groups of friends, and anyone who wants the loud Marmaris boat day. From £29 per person, children 3 and under ride free.
The quiet alternative. A traditional Turkish wooden gulet with sunbeds on the upper deck and shaded tables below, sailing into the Gulf of Gökova — generally considered the most beautiful stretch of coastline in this part of Turkey. Three swimming stops plus three hours on Cleopatra Island, where the protected white-shell beach and the ruins of the ancient Hellenistic city of Kedrai sit beside each other. Best for couples, history-minded travellers, families with very young children and anyone who prefers a calmer day on the water. From £30 per person.
The full-day cultural boat day. Minibus east from Marmaris to the Dalyan delta, then a flat-bottomed river boat through reed-lined channels to the loggerhead turtle nesting beach at Iztuzu, the thermal mud baths at Sultaniye, and past the second-century BC Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliff face above the river. Nine hours door to door, lunch on board. The most varied single day we run and the trip most guests describe as the highlight of their Marmaris holiday. From £28 per person.
Every boat trip we sell includes the same core package:
What is not included: Alcoholic drinks (paid at the on-board bar at reasonable prices), tips for the crew (entirely optional), photo and video service (offered separately by the photographer on board if you want it), and entry fees to specific protected sites — the Cleopatra Island entrance fee of €13 per adult is paid at the island gate, not in advance.
Most Marmaris boat trips include three swimming stops over the course of the day, typically thirty to sixty minutes each. The exact bays change with sea conditions and the captain’s preference, but the regular list is short and worth knowing:
Note: For the Cleopatra Island and Dalyan trips the swimming stops are different — the Cleopatra route uses bays in the Gulf of Gökova, and Dalyan includes a long swim at Iztuzu beach itself.
The official Marmaris boat season runs from early May to the end of October. Within that window, sea temperatures and crowds shift significantly:
All four of our boat trips welcome children — the question is which one suits which age.
The pirate boat is the family favourite for children aged 5 and up, with the foam party, the swimming stops and the themed boat itself doing most of the entertaining. The Cleopatra Island gulet works well for families with very young children and infants, because the boat is quieter and the swimming at the island is in shallow protected water. The Dalyan day is best for children aged 6 and up who can handle a longer day. The all-inclusive boat trip works for families with children of any age, particularly if you want a calmer day than the pirate boat.
Children’s prices on all our boat trips are roughly half the adult fare. Infants under 3 ride free on most boats. Life jackets are provided in child sizes. Crews are used to families and will keep an eye on swimming children at the stops.
Less than you’d think. The boats provide sunbeds, shade, towels for the swimming stops, snorkel masks and life jackets.
You should bring: Swimwear (changed into before pickup is fine, the boat has changing space), sun cream and a hat (the boat decks have direct sun for most of the day), sunglasses, a light cover-up for the cooler late afternoon return, a phone or camera, and a small amount of cash if you want to buy alcoholic drinks at the bar or tip the crew at the end.
Three ways to book:
All three routes get the same fixed prices. No deposit, no card details, no booking fee. You pay the driver in cash on the morning of the trip. Cancellation is free at any point before pickup — because nothing was paid in advance, there’s nothing to refund.
If you’re planning two or more boat trips across your stay, send us the full list on WhatsApp and we’ll quote a combined package price, meaningfully better than booking each one separately.
